The Challenge

Amid the pandemic, IPB Insurance pivoted to a hybrid work model, offering employees increased flexibility through remote work. However, this shift, while advantageous in many aspects, posed a significant challenge: preserving the company’s core culture and ensuring team engagement within remote settings.

Digital communication tools such as Email and Microsoft Teams have been the backbone for remote communication. However, IPB recognised the need for a more comprehensive platform. Their existing intranet had become outdated, failing to meet evolving organisational needs.

IPB sought a comprehensive revamp of its digital workspace, aiming to synchronize it with the hybrid work model while fostering team connectivity. Their goal was to create an environment encouraging informal information exchange, seamless company updates, and an engaging social platform that was both easy to maintain and visually appealing, aligning with IPB’s branding.

Additionally, IPB aimed to enhance collaboration, one of the company’s core mutual values, by seamlessly integrating with Microsoft Teams.

The Solution

After a formal tender process, Spanish Point Technologies were awarded the contract to design and build a modern Intranet. Our team designed and built a dynamic social news feed through Viva Engage (previously known as Microsoft Yammer), fostering employee interaction and creating a more engaging company culture. Integration with Microsoft Teams using Viva Connect ensured unified collaboration, allowing teams to seamlessly work within the Intranet or Teams.

The transformation included a tailored Employee Onboarding Site, harmonising with the main page’s visual style. Policies and procedures were consolidated, providing a central hub for streamlined information access. Empowering ongoing adaptability, a template site was introduced for consistent site creation.

Robust analytics tools offered comprehensive insights into site activity, enabling IPB to make informed decisions and refine the Intranet continually.
